Korean is the sixteenth most widely spoken language in the world today.  It is spoken by almost 80 million people!  The number of people interested in learning Korean has grown significantly in the past several decades beyond the Korean peninsula as well as in overseas Korean communities.  This interest in Korean language and culture is due in part to South Korea’s increasing importance in the world of economy, innovation in technology, and global popular culture.
